Where's the straight jacket, Part II
Previously, I have written about a little known genius known as Emad Mujahid. Today, I will highlight another great Jordanian, who is a professor at the Jordan University of Science and Technology. His name is Professor Awad Mansour. According to the JUST website, he specializes in numerical analysis, adsorption, fluid mechanics, environmental engineering, thermophysical properties, and optimization. Apparently, he cures the most difficult diseases as a hobby. Today, he announced that he has found the cure for malaria. Previously, he also discovered the cure for asthma, diabetes, and cancer (presumably all forms). He also discovered at new medicine to cure smoking. He has also discovered cures for hepatitis, as well as any disease you can think of. When he is not curing diseases, he is developing new ways to extract oil from oil shale. This is besides his contributions to literature, religious science and computer science.
Now, if this guy is for real, we should build a statue for him. If not, we should send him to Fuheis, or to jail. Either way, I think that we deserve to know.

Do you suppose there is a reason why Emad Mujahid is "little known"? Unfortunately for us here in the US, we have a number of Mujahid's, usually politicians, who should be but are not, "little known". But, if his lack of fame is unjustified, skip the statue and lets vote him in as President, or King, of the world!

I would give this man the benefit of the doubt and say that the chance of him being right is 0.000001%, otherwise people will be dying right and left if they doctors believed him. If he understands a little bit about the etiology of all these disease he'll be sure that no medication can cure all of them toehter, gaal malaria and hepatitis and most cancers! Genius my ass.

In a world where such a statement would be considered sane, what’s his face Awad Mansur finding a cure for cancer wouldn’t be so farfetched.
Whatever man I don't think he should be allowed to claim so unless he has some good solid evidence-based proof, and I can tell you he has NONE. HE should be ordered to stop babbling.

Far from being protected by his beard this guy is an easy target for you la’ino malhoosh dhaher. Khalaf, I don’t think so, I know so. Every respectable American university campus has at least one “theory of everything” crackpot (and I am not strictly talking about physics here). Or perhaps some of your geneticist friends could tell you about Berkeley’s Peter Duesberg and his theories on HIV and AIDS etiology. Better still his friend Kary Mullis, Nobel Laureate and “inventor” of PCR (you can’t even begin to imagine how big this is), who denies that AIDS is caused by HIV, denies global warming or at least that it is anthropogenic in origin and denies that CFC’s deplete the ozone layer (the last two especially are hardly his area of expertise, and all three hold severe consequences for all humanity). Mullis is also known to have the occasional friendly chat with the odd glowing raccoon on his way to the outhouse (he reported this experience in writing, and he wasn’t kidding). Besides his biotech ventures, “he is currently a Distinguished Researcher at Children’s Hospital and Research Institute in Oakland, California,” according to his official biography, and believe me not a few American universities would be more than happy to lend their names to him, to use your phrasing.

My point is that not only do professors in the states get away with such garbage, you would be surprised at how distinguished some of these space cadets are. (I know that biographies of ordinary people are all the rage in certain corners of cultural studies, but do you really expect me to go through the drudgery of profiling one of the more obscure screwballs?)
I have to say that as much as I despise your politics, Khalaf, I do respect your restraint. It’s just that there is no chivalry in taking aim at Mansur. It is just too easy and not very useful. The stuff of smartass adolescents. What’s next? Contradictions in the Quran or the Bible.

Thanks for posting such an interesting material. I especially liked the remark about Jordanian universities lending their name and indeed reputation to such garbage. I read something in Arabic that Dr. Mansour was allegedly advising people to "to take lemon or lemon juice which is actually basic.." to fight swine flu. I am no chemist but citric acid is not a base!
